Ideas for future tokens

DIY Wooden Wax Seals -- This could be something fun to try with simple dowel rods. If the steps are broken down over time it probably wouldn't be much more time-consuming than the beaded bookmarks or pewter tokens we've done. I'd suggest making the length of the dowels no longer than 3 inches and drilling a hole near the top to string floss or twine, so people can loop them on their garb. The seal image would need to be something simple, something people would want to use in the Midrealm or on scribal work, or just various letters of the alphabet. I have no idea, but it looked interesting.

I like this idea. Roana & I talked about it tonight. These would be something people can use after the event is over rather than collecting in a drawer that gets cleaned out once a year.

I will begin to look at the supplies needed for this so we can get started on making the seals. If anyone wishes to come up with a simple design to use, that would be fantastic. If not we can look at letters or something simple like WW or FoM.

Simple is good. Since we're making these as utensils folks could use in general, I'd vote for an image of a dragon or just individual letters of the (period) alphabet. If you get a letter that doesn't hold any meaning for you, you can trade with someone else. It's an icebreaker. ;-)

I like the idea of trading if you don't get a letter that's right for you. I was wondering how to work handing out letters, in case ppl did not get a letter they wanted.

Dowels & Stain purchased. Need leather thongs or we can use the fine twine I already have. I have a miter saw, we will need a wood burning tool and a drill. Haven't looked for a font to use. I was thinking that we really only need to do one "Q", "X", & "Z". I was thinking about using these to place at various areas and those who "found" them would get prizes.

I love the idea of hiding the rare letters! As for prizes, they should each be worth, like, 10 points or something, right? ;-)

These are nearly finished. There are approximately 60 left to burn & stain. Not as far as I'd like, but better than I hoped.
